Hero Health is a software platform used by 350+ GP practices across the UK to schedule appointments, communicate with patients and manage their finances. Like many growing startups, Hero Health built their finance function by assembling trusted specialists for each area. One handled bookkeeping and payroll, another focused on R&D tax credits, a CFO provided strategic input, and a separate accountant managed year-end reporting. It was a sensible setup that served them well until the pace of growth demanded more cohesion.

The founder ended up at the center of it all – chasing updates, repeating information, and plugging gaps between providers who didn’t talk to each other. Time that should’ve gone into growing the business was instead lost in handoffs and rework.
