Who We Are
Upstreamly was established in 2015 by a team of professionals who specialise in the upstream oil and gas industry.
We offer commercial, advisory, accounting, tax, compliance and outsourcing services. Our offices are based in London and Aberdeen and we have an international client base spanning Africa, Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Our core strength at Upstreamly is providing high quality financial advice without the excessive price tag. Our aim is to enable a smooth, well informed experience for all our clients, no matter the size. We are a firm regulated and a practicing member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales.

MEET OUR TEAM
Amir Absoud | Principal
Amir founded Upstreamly in May 2015, following the downward spiral in oil prices, with the primary aim of providing an alternative, tailored and expert solution focused on the upstream oil and gas industry in the UK and globally.
Based in London, Amir is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds an Economics Degree from the London School of Economics. Working up to Manager level at PwC London, Amir thereafter held several senior finance roles at oilfield services companies in the UK and internationally.
Amir is particularly interested in streamlining finance functions of clients through a higher level of automation and ensuring they work seamlessly with other departments including procurement and operations to add value as business partners. By implementing processes, procedures and systems for clients, Amir aims to minimise the cost of the finance function whilst ensuring a strong audit trail is maintained as well as compliance with latest accounting standards (IFRS & US GAAP) and tax legislation.
Aaron Scrupps
Aaron joined Upstreamly in 2021 part-way through his Chartered Accountancy qualification with the ICAEW, and has since decided to undertake the CIOT’s Chartered Tax Adviser qualification alongside. Aaron lives and works in London, and outside of work enjoys going to the gym, playing tennis and dabbling with music. His greatest achievement to date is forming a band at university, and going on to release three records which he toured in both the UK and Mexico.
Aaron strives to provide excellent customer service for Upstreamly’s clients via proactivity and responsiveness. His taxation studies have proven particularly useful in supplying high quality advice to clients, minimising their liabilities and ensuring compliance.
Pedro Pereira
Pedro joined Upstreamly in 2018. Pedro is from Porto in Portugal and is currently living there. Pedro says that, clients all over the world and from different fields of expertise makes working at Upstreamly an exciting experience. Although being separated by hundreds or thousands of miles, the team spirit and cooperation shared with clients and team mates is edifying. Studies in Economics. Partially quoting Frank Zappa: Music is the Best! Pedro speaks Portuguese and English.
Kateryna Shumska
Kateryna (Katya) joined Upstreamly in 2017. Originally from Ukraine, she is currently living with her family in Houston, USA. In her spare time, Katya enjoys reading books and running, with her other passion being travelling. Katya is an experienced accountant with international experience on having worked in Ukraine, UK and USA. She is currently studying for the CPA certification. Katya speaks Ukrainian, Russian and English.
